He was a member of every government from 1923 until his death in 1929.
Which treaty did Germany sign in 1925?
In 1925 Germany had signed the Locarno Treaties with Britain, France and Italy. They guaranteed Germany’s eastern frontiers.
What happened in 1926?
In 1926, Stresemann took Germany into the League of Nations. Its status as a great power was recognised as it was given a permanent seat on the league’s council alongside Britain and France.
Which party had control over the government?
During the years of the Weimar Republic no single party won a majority of seats in the Reichstag.
Up to 1930y the Social Democrats always won the most votes, but never enough govern on their own. So governments had to be formed from coalitions of parties working together.
Why was the government unstable?
Since the government was made up of different parties, this led to disagreements.
