A

In January 1919 they organised a revolt in Berlin and they were a group of WW1 soldiers known as the Freikorps. They wanted Germany to be communist but failed to over throw the Weimar Republic.

A

In 1920 a group of extreme nationalist who supported a group of army officers and held a putsch against the Weimar government.

Why did Germany have economic problems?

A

in 1918 Germany was close to bankruptcy due to WW1 costs and the treaty of Versailles made things worse. By 1922 Germany has failed to pay some instalments which led to French retaliation.

What was the French invasion of the Ruhr?

A

In 1923 Belgian and French troops marched into the Ruhr which is Germany’s centre of steel, iron and coal production. The German government couldn’t take military action so they encourage German workers to take an action of passive resistance.
