- Kapp led 5,000 Friekorps into rebellion in Berlin
- army refused to fire
- industrial workers called general strike

French Invasion of Ruhr
- Germany didn’t pay reparations in 1922, in 1923, Belgian and French troops invaded the Ruhr and took what was owed in the form of raw materials/ goods
- halt in most important industrial area= currency collapsed
Consequences of Ruhr occupation
- currency collapsed = gov. began printing more money to pay off debts quicker
- more money in circulation than goods to buy
- currency became worthless

- TOV (some hated it)
- Economic (if sanctions were imposed, American trade/ businesses would suffer the most
- WW1 (believed American soldiers would have to solve international issues )
- Anti-Empire (thought B + F would rule LON)
