a treaty between germany, britian, france, italy and belgium. germany accepted border with wih france and france promised peace with germany. allies and germany agreed rhineland would stay permantley demilitarised. five powers opened talks about alloweing germany into league of nations.

an allied founded organisations in which powerful countries could talk and resolve problems. germany was excluded but in september 1926 germany was given a place
what was the kellogg briand pact
germany and 61 other countries signed this pact. it stated no country would go to war in order to resolve issues. showed germany could be trusted again
what was the dawes plan 1924
stressemann persuaded britian, france and usa to reduce the amount of reparation payments a year to 2.5 billion marks a year. he also persuaded usa to loan germany $3 billion to improve their economy
what was the retenmark
a new currency introduced by gustav stressmann. value was linked to the amount of gold owned by the government. it stabilised prices as only a limited number were printed meaning money rose in value.
what was the young plan 1929
it reduced the reparations bill from £6.6 billion to £2 billion. it also gave germany an extra 59 years to make the payments. the final payment was due in 1988.
what were the living standards like
they began to improve, the number of people without a job went down, hours workers worked went down and quality of housing went up.
were women more or less free
women were more free. they were allowed to vote, had more choices surrounding their jobs and more choices in what they wore.
