German economic situation after ww1 (1918-1920)
A
Value of the mark was in steady decline from the war and printing money
Germany couldn’t export british blockade
Therefore germany due to the decline value of the mark had to default on reparations

What caused the Ruhr Crisis?
A
- Germany defaulted on reparations
- France and Belgium occupied the Ruhr region and germany losts its coal
- No coal = no economy
- Germany had to print money - The mark became worthless

how did German government resist the French invasion
A
Called a general strike in passive resistance - however striking workers had to be supported - therefore strike failed
