Weimar and Nazi Germany 2.2 - Munich Putsch and lean years, 1923-29 Flashcards
1
Q
Long-term causes of the Munich Putsch
A
- By 1923, the Nazi party had 55,000 members and was stronger than ever before.
- This was because of the long list of grievances from 1918-1923 which had been building up (e.g. ‘stab in the back’, reparations, and the loss of Germany’s colonies).
- There was a deep resentment of the Weimar Republic amongst some Germans, which created support for nationalist parties such as the NSDAP.
