This is the philosophical study of human beings, its behaviors and fundamental principles around its existence

it is the methodological study of the ultimate question about reality.

• helps student engage with difficult questions
• identify and critically assess assumptions behind conventional judgement

what is philosophical anthropology and how does it approach the study of human beings ?
It is the study of human nature, considering humans as intelligent being. It reflects on the human person, understanding the fundamental principles of its existence and behavior and approach the human person as a system
what are these fundamental principles if human existence
•Rationality and intelligence
• will and freedom
• unity of the human person
• Social nature
• Purpose and meaning
• moral and ethical dimension
• self actualization and fulfillment
• temporal existence
why is it essential to have precisely articulate theory about the nature of human beings ?
• to become successful managers or communicators
• to protect against the misuse of models
• to train in rigorous thinking
what is a model ?
it is a way of representing reality in a simplified manner. They have been made in such a way to analyze the behaviors , motivations , needs and etc if a human person, in a structured manner
what are the models we have ?
• Economic model - humans seek to be rational and maximize their individual utility
• Adam Maslow model of human motivation - categorized the needs of human beings into 5 level: physiological needs(food and water), safety needs , love and belongings ( social interactions ), esteem needs ( recognition and self respect) and self actualization( personal growth and achieving ones potential).
• Adam’s Equity theory - fair distribution of resources motivates people
• Victor vroom - people behave a certain way based on the expected outcome of their behaviors
What are the problems with models
• students tend to confuse them with reality
• Oversimplification
• leaves the account of human free will
