Week Six - Factorial Repeated Measures Flashcards
What are the design possibilities with a factorial ANOVA?
BS, WS and Mixed
Explain Fixed and Random factors?
Fixed: IV levels are chosen and do not change randomly from one experiment to the next
Random: IV levels are randomly selected from a larger population of potential levels. Differ from one replication to the next (e.g., subjects)
Does sphericity still apply?
Yes - if there are more than 2 levels on any WS IV then it is likely there is violation
Rather than using paired t-tests to investigate sig interaction in FRM, what can you do?
Do two separate one-way repeated measures ANOVAs with BA
What is a mixed factorial design?
both within and between subjects IVs
Should we look at HOV or sphericity in MFA?
Both with potential of GG
Explain crossed and nested factors?
Crossed: all levels of B occur in all levels of A
Nested: different levels of B at each level of A
