Week 8 Flashcards
All ANOVAs and t test require what kind of variables?
categorical IV’s
continuous DVs
R squared tells us what?
The percentage of actual variation explained by the IV.
CORRELATION DOES NOT IMPLY
causation.
What is extrapolation?
Can only make predictions within the range that your data has in linear regression model (doesn’t continue past)
If we need a quadratic linear value, how do we get this
compute a squared version of the x row to get x^2.
What does the triangle r squared mean next to model builder comparing two models?
It is the percentage of extra variance explained by the second model
In model comparisons, if the p value is not significant, what does this mean?
that them model does not significantly improve the fit
Trend analysis only works if the IV is what?
quantitative. If it is not, this is not an applicable technique .
What happens if you click polynomial in your ANOVA (trend analysis)?
It shows up to the most complicated model. If statistically significant, that’s the model with the best fit. This is called a trend analysis.
