A

what is the Rinne test?
what do the results indicate?

A

vibrate fork on mastoid bone, when they can no longer hear it, transfer to the ear. Ask if they hear the vibrations.
normally, air conduction is longer than the bone conduction
if they hear longer when fork is touching bone, they have conductive hearing loss
if they hear longer when fork is in air, they have sensorineural loss

what is the Romberg test?

A

tests balance, pt should close eyes and stay upright for 30 seconds

what do you palpate to feel neck/lymph nodes?
Lymph nodes: double post, pre, OT, double sub, super, deep, supra (10 total)

A

Thyroid and lymph nodes: posterior auricular, preauricular, occipital, tonsillar. submandibular, submental, posterior cervical, superficial cervical, deep cervical chain and supraclavicular nodes

A

do a 360 clockwise -> IMS to ILS… so top right (looking at nose): inferior oblique -> medial rectus -> superior oblique… bottom left (away from nose): inferior rectus -> lateral rectus -> superior rectus
