16
Q

how do you span out your weigher?

A

Zero, verify it +/- .1 gram
go up and put the span weights on
after you’ve put the wieghts on, you go down and verify its 200 +/- .1 gram
once verified, go back up and remove the weights
after taking them off, verify all weights are off.

17
Q

your getting chips in the top seal on an atlas, what is the problem?

A

add stripping.

18
Q

if you are looking at your rcu screen and you see that you are using 3 and 4 hoppers to to make every bag, on a big bag, and your feeder values are all the way DOWN, what adjustments do you need to make?

do you need to make any other adjustments?

A
  1. decrease feed multiplier

and “yes” you should
increase feed and amp and time.

19
Q

how do you drain out a weigher cutting bags?

A

” infeed”

20
Q

how long should you work on a machine before getting help?

A

10 minutes.

21
Q

timing cycle on an apex 201?

A
  1. registration unit sees eye spot
  2. starts all timing functions
  3. crumb plates make contact
    4 dump arrives
  4. jaws close to strip seal cut, jaws open
  5. C.M.S starts
  6. air blasts
  7. Repeat cycle
22
Q

what happens when the registration unit sees the eye spot on an apex 201?

A

Starts all timing functions

23
Q

if your weigher is going into low product, what is the first thing you need to check?

A

check your allen conveyor

24
Q

if your getting chips in the bottom seal on a polaris running a big bag, what adjustments do you need to make?

A

the dump is coming to early, you need to go up on your dump delay

25
Q

if your getting chips in the top seal on a polaris running a big bag, what adjustments do you need to make?

A

the dump is coming too late, you need to go down on dump delay.

26
Q

when you get a brick wall you should do what?

A
  1. purge out the robot
  2. place hold tag label
  3. get Q.C
  4. fix the problem.
27
Q

what is the polaris stripper plate gap?

A

.030 or the width of a dime

28
Q

on any machine when do you want the clamp to close?

A

after pull belts pull to cut position and stop

29
Q

what is the strip gap and what is it used for?

A

strip gap is the distance between jaw faces while stripping, and its set to .19 to .20

30
Q

what is the crumb plate gap on an apex?

A

1mm

31
Q

the rate of product from the dispersion feeder to the radial feeder, is controlled by what adjustments?

A

amp and time

32
Q

getting chips in the top seal on an apex you should?

A

increase stripping

add settling

33
Q

what is an over scale error?

A

when one scale exceeds target weight, plus upper limit

34
Q

what is over weight error?

A

when all possible combinations exceed target weight plus upper limit.

35
Q

atlas running 100bpm, what is the timing cycle?

A

its continuous, and includes C.M.S start.

registration unit sees eye spot
starts all timing functions
crumb plates make contact
dump arrives
jaws close to strip, seal cut, jaws open
C.M.S starts
air blasts
repeat cycle
36
Q

what are the 5’5s

A

upper limit is set to 5 grams : this establishes the operating range of the weigher

upper 5%- turns off the cross feeder
Lower 5%- starts the feed interrupt

Feed interrupt is set to 5 seconds: when the dispersion feeders target weight goes below the lower 5% for 5 seconds it, pauses the weigher, posts a low product signal, and waits until the weigher is satisfied.

Transit interrupt- is set to .5 of a second: this is how long it takes the disp feeder load cell to recognize a change in weight.

37
Q

what provides the operating controls for the weigher?

A

the Rcu or oit

38
Q

your getting chips on the bottom seal on an atlas, what’s the problem?

A

the clamp is opening too early, go up on your clamp delay.
