week 6 Flashcards
what are the 4 S’s?
speed
span
scale
settling time
you have a heavy bag followed by a light bag, what should you do?
adjust dump timing
your running a big bag , and your using 7 hoppers, the feeder values are all the way up, and you have low product, what should you do?
increase target weight
go up on feed multiplier
and check your allen
the crossfeeder is on for 7 seconds, and off for 2, your running the right bag combinations, what adjustments should be made?
after this should other adjustments be made?
raise cross feeder scanner
increase amp on crossfeeder or T1 timer
And “No”
if product is bridging up in your filling tube in your former, it may be necessary to do what?
add stagger
adjust dump count from 1 to 2
on a Polaris, what do you have control over when it comes to making end seals?
Heat
Dwell Time
Alignment
What is needed to make a good back seal?
Heat
pressure
dwell time
alignment
What is the product flow?
review paper notes!!!
if you are performing a weight correlation, and you notice 3 out of your 20 bags are heavier then the rest, what is the problem?
check for leaking hoppers
if you are in pc and one of your small bags on a non RCC, is getting chips in the seals, what is the first thing you would check?
Nitrogen
you do a weight correlation, and all your weights are above the Ishida weights, and it passes you yellow, what should you do?
Check the 4 S's: Speed span scale settling time
you do a weight correlation and it passes you green, but the Ata is still high, what do you need to do to bring your Ata down?
Make sure your running the proper combinations
you’ve been running fine for 3 hours, and you start getting chips in your seals, what adjustments need to be made?
clean your weigher
you just took over a line, and your getting chips in both seals, what should you do?
make sure your weigher is not giving overscale or over weight errors
you’ve been running fine all day, you replace the roll of film and now the back seal wont seal, what should you do?
put a new roll of film on.
how do you span out your weigher?
Zero, verify it +/- .1 gram
go up and put the span weights on
after you’ve put the wieghts on, you go down and verify its 200 +/- .1 gram
once verified, go back up and remove the weights
after taking them off, verify all weights are off.
your getting chips in the top seal on an atlas, what is the problem?
add stripping.
if you are looking at your rcu screen and you see that you are using 3 and 4 hoppers to to make every bag, on a big bag, and your feeder values are all the way DOWN, what adjustments do you need to make?
do you need to make any other adjustments?
- decrease feed multiplier
and “yes” you should
increase feed and amp and time.
how do you drain out a weigher cutting bags?
” infeed”
how long should you work on a machine before getting help?
10 minutes.
timing cycle on an apex 201?
- registration unit sees eye spot
- starts all timing functions
- crumb plates make contact
4 dump arrives - jaws close to strip seal cut, jaws open
- C.M.S starts
- air blasts
- Repeat cycle
what happens when the registration unit sees the eye spot on an apex 201?
Starts all timing functions
if your weigher is going into low product, what is the first thing you need to check?
check your allen conveyor
if your getting chips in the bottom seal on a polaris running a big bag, what adjustments do you need to make?
the dump is coming to early, you need to go up on your dump delay
if your getting chips in the top seal on a polaris running a big bag, what adjustments do you need to make?
the dump is coming too late, you need to go down on dump delay.
when you get a brick wall you should do what?
- purge out the robot
- place hold tag label
- get Q.C
- fix the problem.
what is the polaris stripper plate gap?
.030 or the width of a dime
on any machine when do you want the clamp to close?
after pull belts pull to cut position and stop
what is the strip gap and what is it used for?
strip gap is the distance between jaw faces while stripping, and its set to .19 to .20
what is the crumb plate gap on an apex?
1mm
the rate of product from the dispersion feeder to the radial feeder, is controlled by what adjustments?
amp and time
getting chips in the top seal on an apex you should?
increase stripping
add settling
what is an over scale error?
when one scale exceeds target weight, plus upper limit
what is over weight error?
when all possible combinations exceed target weight plus upper limit.
atlas running 100bpm, what is the timing cycle?
its continuous, and includes C.M.S start.
registration unit sees eye spot starts all timing functions crumb plates make contact dump arrives jaws close to strip, seal cut, jaws open C.M.S starts air blasts repeat cycle
what are the 5’5s
upper limit is set to 5 grams : this establishes the operating range of the weigher
upper 5%- turns off the cross feeder
Lower 5%- starts the feed interrupt
Feed interrupt is set to 5 seconds: when the dispersion feeders target weight goes below the lower 5% for 5 seconds it, pauses the weigher, posts a low product signal, and waits until the weigher is satisfied.
Transit interrupt- is set to .5 of a second: this is how long it takes the disp feeder load cell to recognize a change in weight.
what provides the operating controls for the weigher?
the Rcu or oit
your getting chips on the bottom seal on an atlas, what’s the problem?
the clamp is opening too early, go up on your clamp delay.
