Week 6 Flashcards
1
Q
Weighting
A
This is done to flatten out differences between the population and the sample. This can only be done if the weighting variable correlates with the observed variable, and is only necessary when you want to generalize your data to the population.
2
Q
How to find out if you need to weight?
A
You perform a binomial or an Chi-square test, if the null-hypothesis is significant you need to weight.
3
Q
Auxiliary information
A
Information measured in the survey, and of which the population distribution is known.
4
Q
Survey reference
A
Survey which only measures auxiliary information, to compare.
