Week 6 Flashcards
What does a t-test measure?
The difference between means is significant or not.
What are parametric statistics calculated from?
Data - mean and SD.
What are non-parametric statistics calculated from?
From ranked scores.
Three assumptions for parametric:
- interval or ratio
- normally distributed
- variance has to be similar if there are two groups.
What is:
nominal
ordinal
interval
ratio
Nominal - names and catagories
ordinal - order or rank
interval - equal distance between each number
ratio - same as interval but not below 0 (true 0).
What is normality testing?
Tests if results come from a normally distributed population.
What is the ceiling and floor effect?
Ceiling - task is too easy
Floor - task is too hard
Homogeneity of varients
Similar variants.
Heterogenerity of variance
Different variance
