both bleed
abruption is tender; previa is not tender

what are risk factors for gestational diabetes mellitus?
- increase inure-pregnancy weight bw initial and subsequent pregnancies
- asian ethnicity
- aboriginal ethnicity esp. w/obesity
- excess food, fam hx, increasing age, stress sedentary, obesity

ss/sxs of gestational HTN
high BP, edema, sudden weight gain
define gestational HTN
HTN with onset AFTER 20 wks gestation
before 20 wks is called pre-existing HTN
BP criteria for dx of HTN in pregnancy
diastolic >90mmHg based on average of at least 2 measurements taken in same arm >5 mins apart after initial rest period of >5mins
what is considered severe HTN in pregnancy?
systolic >160
diastolic >110
severe HTN, repeat measurement to confirm, when?
after 15 mins
