Contrast and Bowel Prep
A
- most routine abdomens require both IV and oral CM
- bladder best seen when full with urine or CM
- injection parameters and timing is site specific
- oral volume minimum 600ml

CT Abdomen
A
- pt position: feet first, supine, sponge under knees for comfort, arms raised over head
- suspend on inspiration to reduce motion and artifacts
- internal laser: nipple line (midsternum)
- coronal laser: mid coronal plane
- midsagittal laser: mid sagittal plane
- start: just above diaphragm
- end: at iliac crest (or lower if needed to include entire liver)

A
- pt position: feet first, supine, sponge under knees, arms raised over head

- internal laser: nipple line (midsternum)
- coronal laser: mid coronal plane
- midsagittal laser: mid sagittal plane
- start: just above diaphragm
- end: just below pubic symphysis
