What are workplace policies?
Statements and principles and practices dealing with the ongoing management and. administration of the organisation and its continuity. They provide a guiding frame of reference for how the org deals with everything from day to day operational problems or how to respond to requirements to comply with legislation, regulation and codes of practice.
What characteristics do polices need to have?
They must be reasonable and transparent so that employees are aware and clearly understand what the policy is trying to achieve and what their responsibility is under the policy. it needs to set the aim of the policy, explain why it was developed, list whom the policy applies to and clearly set out what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour.q
What are the steps in developing a workplace policy?
- Planning and consultation

- Implementation
- Compliance and evaluation of outcomes
- Review and update as necessary
