Factors affect the culture contamination?

A

No refrigerating the sample as it is one of the greatest predictors of sample contamination.
*If blood sample was collected by a dedicated team the chances of sample contamination was low .

A

EBM suggest the children with high risk of clinical suspicion the rapid strep test offer reasonable sensitivity and it is considered a std alone test not requiring a follow up of throat culture.
But if patients are clinically unlikely the RADT is not cost effective.

A

Blue is + for SOBT
Types of stool smears are wooden stick smear, toilet tissue smear, and direct smear were equally effective ways bases in EBM.

H I CARE, prepare instruments,
Take the old dressings,
Remove gloves and get new gloves, perform hand hygiene
Rinse the wound with normal saline to remove skin flora and contamination, do not touch the eyes , gentle rotate the swab in the areas of the drainage ,
Squeeze the bottom of the tube to activate the reagent,

A

Make sure the strips are not expired
Read the manual instructions and do accordingly
Urine strips are done bedside testing,and read in 1 min and 2 minutes .
Label the container after the patient voids
Minimal Amt of UOP= 30 /ml per hour
