Describe the medical Treatment and Planning and Decisions Act 2016
A framework for decision making that is only applied when a person does not have the capacity to make treatment decisions for themselves. It replaces The Medical Treatment Act, and parts of The Guardianship and Administration Act.
What are Worden’s Tasks of Mourning?
- To accept the reality of the loss
- To work through the pain and grief of the loss
- to adjust to an environment in which the deceased is missing
- to relocate the deceased and move on
What are the 5 stages of Kuhler-Ross’s Model of Grieving?

Define Palliative care
“An approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problems associated with life threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of sufferings by means of early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual.” (WHO, 2022)
