Using the ‘Self-Concordance Model’ to set goals most alligned with serving the self

Which goal to pursue? The Matching Hypothesis (requires self-awareness and known values)

Higher vs Lower level goals
-Abstractedness
-High informs lower order goals anf gives meaning to them
-Lower level goals are specific and generally routine bound
New Years Resolutions? Why are they unlikely to follow through
Values aren’t relevant or alligned with who we are. Although values chnage overtime so it is good to subject these to periodic checks.
Two approaches to goal orientation
-Avoidance orientation
-Moving towards a desirable outcome
Self-concepts and goals
Self concept is formed by goals overtime and in turn forms goals.
