Expressive & receptive dysphasia
Expressive is problems with the production of language and receptive is problems with the comprehension and understanding of speech.
What is dysarthia?
Slurred speech, most common in stroke & traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients.
Why do you consider sight when with neuro patients?
Is it normal or impaired and is there a neurological component affecting the patient’s vision. If it’s impaired this can change the treatment plan
What is the Glasgow Coma Scale 0/15?
assesses best eye, verbal & motor response in an ITU setting post acute neurological event.
What does the AVPU scale stand for?
Alert, verbal, pain, unresponsive
