What is a cross-sectional study?
all data is collected at roughly the same time
Provides a snapshot of the population of interest at a particular moment
What is a longitudinal study?
data is collected repeatedly over a period of
time in intervals
What is a cohort study?
it is a group of individuals broken into subsets and
followed over a period of time
What is the healthy user bias?
healthy individuals are more likely to take part in
research interventions
What is the recall bias?
certain people are more likely to recall events than others
What is the difference between systematic and nonrandom bias?
Systematic bias regularly occurs
Nonrandom bias is not equally distributed among cases
What is a true experiment?
random allocation of participants to control and
experiment groups
What is a sequential design?
one part of the study follows the other
What is a concurrent design?
both parts of the study occur simultaneously
