Week 3 Flashcards
How can one reduce an overbite? How does it work?
Use a flat anterior bite plane
Works by increasing the OVD so that posterior teeth will form a new occlusion through bone deposition and soft tissue formation. (This can be done because pt is young)
What checks should be done when putting in an URA?
Check its for right patient and the design is correct
Check for any damage or work hardening on the URA
Insert and check for any blanching or soft tissue trauma
Check posterior retention (adams clasps flyovers, then arrowheads in undercuts)
Check anterior retention
