DIagnostic Paradigm:
the traditional way in which diagnosis are given out, through the use of the DSM/ICD, following specific structure/set of rules.
Classification:
the grouping of mental disorders on the basis of their characteristics or symptoms.
Comorbidity:
the presence of more than one diagnosis at a time
Transdiagnostic approaches:
an alternative to diagnostic manuals, is fully empirical and focuses on quantitative structure of signs, symptoms and behaviours. Classification framework based on resultant data.
(Transdiagnostic) biopsychosocial processes:
mental ill health emerges from an interplay between various biological, psychological and socioenvironmental processes that do not respect established diagnostic boundaries
Transdiagnostic clinical approaches/ interventions:
are approaches/interventions that apply the same treatment principles across mental disorders, without adapting the protocol to specific diagnosis.
Transdiagnostic processes:
is a proposed psychological mechanism underlying and connecting a group of mental disorders
