identify the kinds of ethical issues and dilemmas faced by researchers when designing and conducting research
Potential cost to participants/gain from research
Research misconduct: fabricating, falsifying or plagiarising results
Society and science: how much should society and pop culture influence science
describe the ethical guidelines that must be followed in conducting research with humans, and the key ethical issues that must be considered.
1- Beneficence: acting for the benefit of others
Non-maleficence: do no harm to others
2- Fidelity and responsibility: using influence
3- Integrity: should strive to be honest, accurate and truthful.
4- Justice: everyone should have access to and benefit from science
5- Respect: for people’s rights and dignity
