ecological theorie
problems if there lack of fit between people and society. influence of social factors on behaviour
cognitive theory
based on the idea that mental and emotional distress are maintained by an individuals cognitive behaviour. a persons thoughts and beleifs determine their emotional and behavioural responses to life events
mindfullness theory
living in the present moment not worrying about the past or future
mindfulness based stress reduction
gains insight into how stress and distress are increased by habitual patterns and by cognitive reactivity and sensations thoughts emotions
solutions focused practice model
belief that people have the necessary resources to resolve their problems and contribute to their own personal growth
narrative theory
belief that a persons beliefs skills and knowlodge can be the means to help them reclaim their lives
systems theory
working of Widder social systems such as family school workplace etc
structural theory
empathy reflection and belief in the basic good in people
critical theory
socio economic structures looks at age race gender sexuality
anti oppressive theory
cluster of theories who share the same goal
