Week 2 Flashcards
P Wave
Created by atrial depolarization
QRS Complex
Created by ventricular depolarization
T Wave
created by ventricular repolarization
U Wave
No significance/ Ignore
Upright Wave
Positive Wave
Inverted Wave
Negative Wave
What does the PR Segment also serve as?
The Baseline (reference line/ isometric line)
What is the ST Segment?
Represents the beginning of ventricular repolarization
Where is the ST Segment?
the flat line between the end of the S wave and the beginning of the T Wave
What does the ST Segment Diagnose?
Used to diagnose angina pectoris and myocardial infarction. (MUST BE BASELINE)
What is the QT Interval?
Represents the time between ventricular depolarization and repolarization
Where is the QT Interval?
The beginning of the R wave to the end of the T Wave.
What does one small box equal?
0.04 seconds
How many seconds does a big box equal?
0.20 seconds
What is a Normal HR?
60-100 BPM
Tachycardia
More than 100 BPM
Bradycardia
Less than 60 BPM
What does the PR Interval represent?
Represents the time taken by the impulse to travel from the SA Node to the Bundle of His
Where is the PR Interval?
Beginning of the P wave to the beginning of the QRS complex
What is a Normal PR Interval?
0.12-0.20 sec
Prolonged PR Interval
Longer that .20 sec
What is the prolonged PR interval condition called?
First Degree Heart Block
what does V1 and V2 look at
the right side of the heart
What does V3 and V4 look at?
the interventricular septum
What does V5 and V6 look at?
the left side of the heart
