Classical Technocratic (government) and Bureaucratic Entrepreneurial (senior Bureaucrats)
What is classical technocratic formulation of public policy?
Has a clear hierarchy in structure and communication within government.
it is more democratic
What is the Bureaucratic entrepreneurial formulation of public policy?
Bureaucrats come up with policy ideas and then approach politicians to obtain the resources and legitimacy needed to implement their programs. It is less democratic.
Do we use a more bureaucratic or technocratic system?
A mixture of both
How does the government implement public policy?
Departments, Agencies and crown corporations
What are the 2 key requirements for multipurpose agencies
separation of functions and no delegation of powers
