Which 2 functions do frames serve journalists?
(1) it operates like a powerful search engine as journalists go out in search for stories that fit the frame, (2) news frames provide meaning to events (heroes and villains frame)
why are stories culturally biased?
(1) because of the journalist’s ethnic background and biases, (2) they depend almost exclusively on American sources, (3) stories are designed for the American audience, (4) when journalists start to construct a story, they never start with a clean slate
