Week 2 Flashcards
A specific location represented by a dot.
Point
It has infinite length, but no width and no thickness.
Line
A flat surface that extends infinitely in all directions.
It extends infinitely in all directions because it consists of many lines.
It has length and width but no thickness.
Plane
“just portions of a line”
Subsets of a line
The union of any two points of a line and all the points between them.
Segment
A set of all points on the line which is the union of a segment and all the points of the line on one side of a segment.
Ray
one point of a line
endpoint
Points that lie on the same line.
Collinear Points
Points that do not lie on the same line.
Noncollinear Points
Points that lie on the same plane.
Coplanar Points
Points that do not lie on the same plane.
Noncoplanar Points
three or more lines that intersect a common point.
Concurrent Lines
what do you call the point where the three lines meet
point of concurrency
