Self-confidence or showy manner

Saturnine
Gloomy or sluggish
The waitresses saturnine attitude made her get a small tip.
Endemic
Confined to particular area or country
The zebra is endemic to Africa.
Mendacious
Lying or false
The mendacious man was sent to prison for not telling the truth.
Obviate
To prevent or get around
The guard tried to obviate the crowd from getting to the celebrity.
Paroxysm
A sudden outburst or fit
The paroxysm ended when the principal walked in.
Aggrandize
To increase range of or expand
The queen aggrandized her land s she could takeover everything.
Deign
To lower oneself before an inferior
The hobo deigned after he had come face to face with the king.
Flaunt
Show off
The man flaunts all of his wealth.
Shibboleth
A word of pronunciation that distinguishes someone as of a particular group
Someone pronouncing creek as crick is a shibboleth.
Elicit
To draw or call forth
The attorney tried to elicit a repose from his client.
