Extremely contagious acute viral illness caused my mobillivirus
- infection rate of ~95% from exposure
Spread by direct contact with nose and throat secretions and in airborne droplets from coughs and sneezes
Reservoir is humans
Infectious from day 1, symptoms appear at day 4:
- raised rash (lasts 5 - 6 days)
- loss of appetite
- loose stools
Complications = mortality of 1/1000

How is measles transmitted?

What is the best method of preventing disease of measles?
