How do you work out amplitude of accomodation

18.5 - 0.3 x age

What is the range of clear vision for a -5 20yr old myope
A
1/5 = 20cm
If eye accommodated it would be even more powerful and focus closer
Would have clear vision from 20cm to 6cm (6cm =0.06m =1/17; 5D +12D

What would be the power of a hyperopic +5 eye and how much would they need to accommodate by to see at 33cm
A
Usual power of eye is 60D but for this it would be 55D as eye is weak by 5D
So the px would need to accommodate 5D PLUS the 3D for the 33cm so 8D in total
May get headaches and eye strain because of so much eye strain
