is a visual defect that causes linear objects, such as lines on a grid, to look curvy or rounded. It’s caused by problems with the eye’s retina, and, in particular, the macula.
metamorphopsia
inability to recognize familiar faces despite intact vision, an ability to describe faces, and an ability to recognize objects.
prosopagnosia
inability of an individual to perceive more than a single object at a time
simultanagnosia
exhibit an inability to locate parts of their own body, the body of an examiner’s, or the parts of a representation of a human body. Deficiencies can be in localizing parts of a certain area of the body, or the entire body.
autotopagnosia
a neurological disorder characterized by the inability to perform learned (familiar) movements on command, even though the command is understood and there is a willingness to perform the movement.
apraxia
A disorder in the performance of skilled. activity because the concept of the action. related to the object is impaired.
ideational apraxia
A disorder in the initiation and execution. of planned sequences of movement. The. concept of the task is understood but the movements lack the correct force, direction and timing in order to achieve a motor goal.
ideomotor apraxia
paralysis of one side of the body – is one of the most common symptoms of stroke
hemiplegia
is an abnormal lack of coordination that can cause a stumbling gait, difficulty with fine motor activities, and vision and sometimes speech problems.
ataxia
A deficit of self-awareness. • Also known as a “lack of insight” • Refers to a condition in which a patient is unaware of deficits resulting from a brain injury.
