Which cells are HLA antigens found?
A
Located on cell membranes of nucleated cells i.e. not RBC or dendritic cells

why perform tissue typing for an organ transplant?
A
To match organ donors to recipients prior to transplantation to find out compatibility (in-vitro). This minimises occurrence of acute or chronic rejection or graft versus host disease post transplantation

What are the names of the two types of transplants?

1) SOT: Solid Organ Transplant
2) Haematopoietic cell transplant
