Name the 3 body planes and describe their location.
medial - left / right halves of the body
frontal - located on the front and back (anterior and posterior)
horizontal - located on the upper and lower (superior and inferior)
describe the anatomical position
standing erect, facing forward, arms by sides and palms forward
Identify and describe 5 directional terms.
superior - towards the head and upper part of the body
inferior - away from the head and toward the lower part of the body
anterior - towards or at the front of the body
posterior - towards or at the back of the body
medial - towards or at the midline of the body
describe the eyes using a directional term
the eyes are superior to the feet
describe the fingernails using a directional term
the fingernails are inferior to the head
describe the head using a directional term
the head is medial to your shoulders
describe the elbow using a directional term
the elbow is lateral to the chest
describe the spine using a directional term
the spine is posterior to the belly button
