What is the definition of technology?
Machinery developed from applying scientific knowledge
What is legal disruption?
The changing of way individuals consume information
What is digital convergence?
Mediums used for different tasks are converged into one eg. LP to Spotify
What are 3 challenges of Digital convergence?
Cheaper
Initial disregard for values
Question of ownership
What is a rivalrous good?
= goods that are being used by one person , prevents another person from using it
Durable : good still exists after use, it just can’t be used simultaneously
eg. Umbrella
Non-Durable: Once it has been used, it cannot be used again
eg. Concert Ticket
What is a non-rivalrous good?
= can be consumed by multiple people simultaneously
eg. tv broadcasts
What is “net neutrality”
= open access internet
Main ideas:
1. Info should be easily accessible by everyone over the internet
2. ISPs shall treat all online traffic equally and openly w/o discrimination, blocking, throttling and prioritisation
