Theft - Theft Act 1968
A person is guilty of theft if he dishonestly (s.2) appropriates (s.3) property (s.4) belonging to another (s.5) with the intention of permanently depriving (s.6) the other of it.
Offensive Weapons - Prevention of crime Act 1953
Any person who without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, proof of which lies with him, has with him in any public place, any offensive weapon shall be guilty of an offensive.
Assault
An assault is any intentional or reckless act which causes a person to apprehend unlawful personal violence.
Burglary 9 (1) (a) Theft Act 1968
A person is guilty of burglary if he enters a building or part of a building as a trespasser with intent to; Steal anything in the building or part of the building OR Inflict grievous bodily harm to any person therein OR Do unlawful damage to the building or anything therein
Burglary 9 (1) (b) - Theft Act 1968
A person is guilty of burglary if having entered a building or part of a building as a trespasser He steals or attempts to steal anything therein OR Inflicts or attempts to inflict to any person therein grievous bodily harm.
Aggravated burglary - section 10 Theft Act 1968
A person is guilty of aggravated burglary if he she commits burglary AND at the time has with him any (W.I.F.E) Imitation firearm or firearm Or Weapon of offence Or Any explosive
Affray - section 3 Public Order Act 1986
A person is guilty of affray if he/she uses or threatens unlawful violence towards another AND his/her conduct would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his/her personal safety.
Robbery section 8 Theft Act 1968
A person commits robbery if he steals AND immediately before or at the time of doing and in order to do so he uses force on any person or puts or seeks to put a person in fear of being then and there subjected to force.
Mechanically propelled vehicle
A vehicle which is driven by any kind of engine. Gas Oil Petrol Electric Diesel Steam
What is GOWISELY?
When doing a section 1 search you must: Grounds Object of the search Warrant must be shown if not in uniform. Identification State which station attached to. Entitlement to copy of search Legal power You are detained for the purposes of a search.
What is COPPLANNED?
This is the mnemonic used when providing a reason for a section 24 PACE arrest. Child or vulnerable person at risk Obstruction of highway Physical injury to prevent Public decency Loss or damage to property Address not known or given Name not believed to be correct Name not given Effective and prompt investigation Disappearance
Criminal Attempts (section 1) criminal attempts act 1981
If with intent to commit an offence triable on indictment, a person does an act which is more than merely preparatory to the commission of the offence he/she is guilty of attempting to commit the offence.
Taking A Conveyance section 12 theft act 1968
A person commits an offence if without having consent of the owner or other lawful authority he takes any conveyance for his own or another’s use, or knowing that any conveyance has been taken without such authority, drives it or allows himself to be carried in or on it.
Bladed or sharply pointed article section 139 criminal justice act 1987
Any person, who has with him/her any article which has a blade or is sharply pointed in a public place without good reason or lawful authority commits an offence.
Going equipped section 25 theft act 1968
A person shall be guilty of an offence if, when not at his place of abode, has with them any article for use in the course of or in connection with any burglary or theft.
