Week 1 Anatomy Flashcards
Innervation of trapezius
Accessory nerve
Innervation of latissimus dorsi
Thoracodorsal nerve
Innervation of supraspinatus and infraspinatus
Suprascapular nerve
Innervation of teres minor
Axillary nerve
Innervation of teres major
Lower subscapular nerve
Rotator cuff muscles
Supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, subscapularis
Innervation of rhomboid muscles
Dorsal scapular nerve
Action of trapezius
Elevates, retracts and rotates scapula
Action of latissimus dorsi
Extends, adducts and medially rotates humerus at shoulder
Action of rhomboids
Retract scapula and rotates it to depress glenoid cavity, fixes scapula to thoracic wall
Action of supraspinatus
Initiates arm abduction
Action of infraspinatus
Laterally rotates arm at shoulder, helps hold head in glenoid cavity
Action of teres minor
Laterally rotates arm at shoulder, holds head in glenoid cavity (same as infraspinatus)
Action of teres major
Addicted arm and medially rotates shoulder
Innervation of serratus anterior
Long thoracic nerve
Innervation of deltoid
Axillary nerve
Action of serratus anterior
Protracts and rotates scapula and pulls it anteriorly toward thoracic wall
What muscles are innervated by musculocutaneous nerve
Biceps, brachialis, coracobrachialis
What muscles are innervated by the radial nerve
Triceps and anconeus
Which 4 tendons reinforce the shoulder joint
Supraspinatus tendon, infraspinatus tendon, teres minor tendon, infraspinatus tendon
Which 4 tendons reinforce the shoulder joint
Supraspinatus tendon, infraspinatus tendon, teres minor tendon, infraspinatus tendon
