List the General Seamanship Safety Precautions?

What safety precautions are to be observed when working with capstans/winches?
The winch / capstan driver or winch operator must be able to see the controller at all times
Never attempt to operate the winch controls and man the warping drum at the same time
Always ensure that the hauling part leads from the top of the drum
Always start the winch at its slowest speed and work up in steps
If a riding turn develops, a winch should be reversed once permission is given, until the other turns free
Always ensure the working end is free for running
