Week 1 Flashcards
what are the classifications of aortic dissection?
Stanford:
Type A: ascending aorta
Type B: descending aorta
Debakey:
Type I: ascending aorta to aortic arch
Type II: confined to ascending aorta
Type III: distal to subclavian artery in descending aorta
What are the branches of the left main coronary artery (AKA left coronary artery)?
Left anterior descending and left circumflex
What does the left anterior descending artery branch into?
Septal branches –> anterior 2/3 of inter ventricular septum and bundle of His
Diagonal branches –> anterolateral papillary muscle and anterior and lateral left ventricle
Left circumflex
What does the left circumflex artery branch into?
left marginal artery and posterior left ventricular artery –> posterolateral
Right coronary artery branches
conus artery –> infundibulum and branch of SA node
right marginal artery –> right ventricle
posterior inter ventricular artery (posterior descending) and right posterolateral artery
anastomosis of the heart
left anterior descending and posterior descending artery
right coronary artery and left circumflex at coronary sulcus
septal branches of RCA and LCA at inter ventricular septum
What medications are prescribed to a CABG patient postoperatively
- Aspirin
- Clopidogrel or oral anticoagulant
- Beta blocker
- Statin
- ACE or ARB
- CT @ CAMC does 5 mg norcoq6h for 3 d
What antiarrhythmic are patients who had a sternotomy given?
Amiodarone (for afib prevention)
