What is database design?
This refers to the activities that focus on the design of the data base structure which will be used to store and manage end-user data.
How does data affect survival of businesses?
- Data can be processed into information
- Information can be used to reveal the meaning of the data
- This information can be used to make key business decisions
- Important decisions can make or break a business
What are the benefits of a database?
- Improved data sharing

What are the types of database classifications?
- Single-user OR multi-user databases
- Workgroup OR enterprise databases (BOTH multi-user databases)

- General purpose OR discipline specific
- Operational OR Analytical (most common classification)
- Structured data OR unstructured data
What are online analytical processing (OLAP) tools?
These work together to provide an advanced data anlysis environemnt for retriving, processing and modedlling data from the data warehouse.
What is social media?
Refers to the web and mobile tech that enables “anywhere, anytime and ways on” human interactions
What are the components of an analytical database?
The analytical processing front-end
