Wild strawberry
Rosaceae
CP
Sd, Stn

five rounded white petal flowers,
sharp-toothed leaves in groups of three
stems are very hairy
Oldfield Cinquefoil
Rosaceae
CP
Stn, Sd
alternate, palmate compound, 5 to 7 leaflets; leaflets oblanceolate to obovate, toothed, whitish below

Vetches
Fabaceae
species vary
Sd, Rz
The leaves that are divided into 8 to 16 leaflets, the distinct stipule that occurs at the base of the leaf petiole, and the climbing or trailing growth habit
Red clover
Fabaceae
SP
Sd
The trifoliate leaves and pink to red flowers are both key features that help in the identification of red clover.
Larger than White Clover
3 leaflets (trifoliate). Each leaflet is elliptic in outline, approximately 1/2 to 1 1/4 inches long and about half as wide. Leaves are usually hairy on both surfaces or sometimes without hairs above and hairy beneath. Each leaf usually has a light green or white ‘V-shaped’ marking.
Birdsfoot trefoil
Fabaceae
SP,CP
Sd, Rz,Stn
Pinnate leaf arrangement. Brown to purple seed pods radiate from stem branch, resemble bird’s foot.
Has three terminal leaflets near the base of the stem, like stipules. Five oval leaflets, non-hairy. Flowers are bright yellow.
Dandelion
Asteraceae
SP
Sd
Leaf margins are noticeably wavy, especially on older leaves. Leaves are oblong in outline, sometimes sparsely hairy, deeply indented with lobes that point toward the center of the rosette.
Common Yarrow
Asteraceae
CP
Sd, Rhz, Stol
finely dissected leaves and white, flat-topped flowers.
Stems: May have white hairs or without hairs, usually unbranched
Common Groundsel
Asteraceae
A
Sd
The deeply lobed leaves, yellow flowers, and ‘puff-ball’ seedhead are all characteristics that help in the identification of common groundsel.
Common Catsear/
False dandelion
Asteraceae
SP
Sd
The rosette growth habit, irregularly lobed leaves, and bright yellow flowers
