A
Acts locally where it touches the plant
e.g. clearing annuals or ephemerals on freshly cultivated ground
Acetic acid

Define Selective herbicide & active ingredient
A
Targets certain weed types (hormone-based)
e.g. broad-leaved weeds in lawns
2, 4-D

Define Translocated (Systemic) herbicide & active ingredient
A
Applied to soil and leaves - taken up and travels through vascular system
e.g. clearing perennial weeds (repeat applications!)
Glyphosate (“Roundup”)
