Convection current
A current in a fluid that results from convection
Sea breeze
When warm air transfers from the land to sea and cold air transfers from sea to land all happening at day
Land breeze
When warm air rises into the sea and cold air sinks into the the land all happening at night
Jet stream
A fast moving wind that move from the one pole to the next pole by flowing fast through the earth
Trade winds
Winds that blow toward the equator
Doldrums
A spot near the equator where there are very few winds
Prevailing winds
Winds that blow away from the equator
Prevailing westerlies
Wind that blow from the equator from west to east
Polar easterlies
Winds that are found near the poles from east to west
Gulf stream
Brings warm air to poles
EL’Nino
Band of warm ocean temperatures that develop off the coast of South America
La Nina
Band of cold ocean temperatures that develop off the coast of South America
