Convection currents
Liquids or gases that fall and rise in a circular path
Sea breeze
Cold air rises and warm air takes its place

Warm air rises cold air takes its place
Coriolis effect
The rotation of the earth causes objects in the northern hemisphere to deflect to the right while objects in the Southern Hemisphere are deflected to the left
Jet stream
A band of very fast moving wind caused by differences in temperature
Trade winds
Winds that blow toward the equator
Doldrums
A spot near the equator were there are very few winds
Prevailing wind
Winds that blow away from the equator
Prevailing westerlies
Winds that blow away from the equator
Polar easterlies
Winds that are found near the poles
El Niño
Band of warm ocean temperatures that develop of the coast of South America
La Niña
Band of cold ocean temperatures that develop of the coast of South America
Gulf Stream
A warm ocean current of the Northern Atlantic Ocean of eastern North America
