what is climate?
climate is the average weather in a given area overr a long period of time. Long term
what is weather
The state of weather over a short period of time and geographic location.
Short term
what is High pressure?
Air that is more dense. molecules are closed together. wants to move to low pressure areas.
what is low pressure?
Air that is less dense. molecules are farther apart.
what is the Coriolis effect?
The rotation of the earth changes direction of the wind.
What is salinity?
The amount of salt in ocean water.
What is circulation?
To move in a circular pattern. Things like the ocean and the air circulate.
what is wind
The movement of the air due to uneven heating of the Earth’s surface.
what is Latitude
The horizontal lines on a map or globe. It measures the amount of north or south from the equator a location is.
Altitude
The height of an object is above ground (or sea) level.
