What is Climate?
The average weather given in a area over a longer period of time.
What is Weather?
Short-term changes in the atmosphere temperature, Precipitation, etc. in the atmosphere day to day.
High Pressure
Weather trends over long periods of time. averages over time.
Low pressure
Air that is less dense.
Molecules are father apart.
Coriolis Effect
The rotation of the earth causes the wind to appear to curve.
Circulation
Water and air moving in a circular pattern.
Salinity
The amount of salt in something.
Rain shadow
a side of a mountain that gets more rain.
Wind
The movement of the air due to uneven heating of the Earth’s surface.
Latitude
the Horizontal lines on a map or globe it measures the amount
north or south from the equator a location is.
Altitude
The height an object is above ground or sea level.
Precipitation
part of the water cycle when water falls to the earth as hail, rain, snow or sleet.

Areas with distance climate that can be defined by weather patterns, latitude, or plant and animal communties.
