What is climate?
Climatic conditions, changes, and effects relate to the general weather conditions of a place.
What is weather?
The weather is the condition of the atmosphere in one area at a particular time, for example, if it is raining, hot, or windy.
What is High pressure?
Air that is more dense. Molecules are close together. Wants to move to low pressure area.
What is Low pressure?
Air that is less dense. Molecules are farther apart.
What is the Coriolis Effect?
the apparent deflection of a moving object that is the result of the Coriolis force
What is Circulation?
The ocean and air rotation, rotating in a circle
What is Salinity?
is the saltiness or amount of salt dissolved in a body of water,
What is Climate zones?
Climate zones are areas with distinct climates.
What is precipitation?
Part of the water cycle, water falls to earth as hail, rain,snow or sleet.
What is a Rain Shadow?
A dry region the leeward side of a mountain area where less precipitation falls compared to the windward side.
What is Latitude?
The horizontal lines on a map or globe. It measures the amount north or south from the equator.
What is altitude?
The height an object is above sea level.
What is wind?
The movement of the air due to uneven heating of the earth’s surface.
