Waves, Complexes, Segments, and Intervals Flashcards
PR segment
Represents the time the electrical impulse is passing through the A-V junction to the ventricles- no electrical activation
P wave
Represents depolarization of the atrial electrical cells
PR interval
Represents the time required for the electrical impulse to depolarize the atria, travel through the AV node and Bundle of His to the ventricles
PR interval 6-11 yrs
0.09-0.17 sec
PR interval 3-5 yrs
0.08-0.16 sec
PR interval 1-2 yrs
0.08-0.15 sec
PR interval less than 1 yr
0.07-0.14 sec
QRS complex
Represents depolarization of the ventricular electrical cells
QRS width
Measures the time required for the electrical impulse to traverse both the right and left ventricles; normal adult 0.10 sec or less
QRS width 6-11 yrs
0.04-0.09 sec
QRS width 1-5 yrs
0.04-0.08 sec
QRS width less than 1 yr
0.03-0.08 sec
ST segment
Represents the beginning of ventricular repolarization
J point
The point at which the QRS complex joins the ST segment
T wave
Represents the last two phases of ventricular repolarization
