The model is linear flowing in one direction going down the “waterfall”

• a schedule can be set for each part since it is all linear
• Easy to understand since it’s very simple
• Easy to manage due to simplicity

What are the disadvantages of this model?

Answer 3

• it is difficult to estimate time and cost of each phase
• once one phase is completed you can’t go back
• not very adaptable and therefore not good for projects with high risk for changing.

When to use the model?

If the requirements are well known and clear and everything is planned. Also when the project is short and there is plenty resources.
